Come dressed in your favorite family-friendly costume and bring your own bag as you make your way through the farm collecting treats at our safe trick-or-treat stations!

Rader Family Farms is teaming up with the University of Illinois Extension and SCARCE for a pumpkin smashing and recycling event!

Fall is the pumpkin’s time to shine – but when Halloween is over, don’t send those Jack-O-Lanterns to the landfill!

TWO WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:

🎃 FREE Pumpkin Recycling Drop-Off
Bring your pumpkins and Jack-O-Lanterns to the free, drop-off-only collection dumpster at Rader Family Farms. Your pumpkins will be collected for composting rather than ending up in a landfill.

💥 SMASH YOUR PUMPKIN AT ORANGE CRUSH!
Want to have a little more fun? Bring your Jack-O-Lantern onto the farm as a paid guest and smash it during our Orange Crush event from 1:00–4:00 PM!

Because sometimes the best way to say goodbye to fall is with a SMASH! 💥🎃

🚛 THE MONSTER TRUCK IS BACK!

Get ready for rides, thrills and plenty of excitement with Wheels of Freedom! Monster truck rides are available for an additional rider fee, payable directly to Wheels of Freedom.

Pumpkins are organic material, but when they end up in landfills, they can contribute to methane emissions as they decompose. By composting and recycling pumpkins, we can keep this seasonal waste out of the landfill and put it to better use.

The Pumpkin Smash program is part of a larger effort across Illinois in collaboration with University of Illinois Extension and SCARCE, an Illinois environmental nonprofit that has helped divert pumpkins from landfills and turn them into compost.
